2014 12 18 Tigris Party and Annual Holiday Bash

Planning a Holiday Bash for Tigris Biggest Roster in Toronto

Tigris head office has been busy this past month attending more than a few holiday festivities, including the Notable Awards after party at 99 Sudbury Dec. 4, the CHIN Christmas Party at Revival Dec. 9 and a dinner for our creative partners in Dundas on Dec. 19! In the midst of these special occasions, completing quotes, running promotions AND buying a new office, our CEO also planned the company’s 11th annual Tigris Holiday Bash. This year’s party was held at The Rivoli on Queen West in Toronto.

Our biggest and busiest Toronto roster was invited to attend the holiday bash. There was a great mix of guests including the Tigris head office team, event managers, events staff and even new recruits our staff brought to introduce to us (way to put your +1 to use!) . It was a perfect opportunity for staff to meet and/or get to know each other better, especially for those who are newer to our team. There are about 500 staff on our GTA roster spanning as far north as Barrie, as far west as SWO and as far east at Peterborough. Given how widespread this is and how busy people are with their own holiday commitments, we usually have about 10-15% of the roster come out to celebrate and this year was no exception.

As you can imagine, with all of the different events and promotions we produce each year, many of our staff haven’t had the chance to meet or work together in awhile so it’s really a unique experience to bring everyone together under one roof. It’s truly the least we can do to show our gratitude to the people who work so hard for us and our clients year round. It was amazing to see everyone outside of our events! Words can’t begin to describe how much we appreciate all of our events staff who have made 2014 – our 10th milestone year in business – extra special and memorable for us.

So, what are the requirements for an awesome party?
* Free Drinks
* Delicious Food (calamari, sliders, nacho’s and even dim sum – yum!)
* Pool Tables (and some friendly competition)
* and of course, PRIZES! Can you say #workperks?

Once the party was in full swing, our management team hosted a raffle to give guests the chance to win 1 of 5 amazing prizes. A few lucky guests won gift cards from The Keg, LCBO, Subway, Tim Horton’s and iTunes in varying amounts from $15 to $50 each!

Joanna, one of our newest additions to the Toronto roster had a fabulous time. “I can’t believe how friendly and welcoming everyone was!” she exclaimed. Well, what do you expect from a team of promotional models and brand ambassadors? We are the most outgoing, friendly, talkative type of people around 🙂 It’s basically a minimum requirement! All of events staff are interviewed and hand picked to join our roster locally and regionally across the country so we would expect nothing less than friendly and welcoming from our team members – new or old. It was great to see so many smiling faces and new friendships being formed at our holiday bash.

We asked guests to use the hashtag #TigrisParty and/or tag us with our handler @TigrisPersonnel so they could share their photos on social media. Take a look at the complete album on our Facebook Fan Page or search us our on Instagram or Twitter. You can also check out our albums from holiday bash parties thrown over past years including Grace O’Malley’s last year, Fiction Nightclub in 2012 and even Lot 332 going all the way back to 2005.

Choosing a Location for This Year’s Holiday Bash

So, why did we choose The Rivoli? Over the past 10 years, Tigris has held parties at nightclubs, pubs and restaurants. This year, we wanted to give our team the chance to enjoy music (but the kind you can actually talk over) and a fun activity to participate in. We recognize that everyone is different. Some people like to lounge and enjoy food/drinks. Others love games which are a fun and interactive way to break the ice when you’re spending time with people you may not know very well. Others like to cut loose and dance (and can we tell you, there was some spectacular dance moves – ahem, our breakdancer, Ben). The Rivoli has practically been a Toronto landmark on Queen West for the past couple of decades as well so we thought we’d give it a go and it ended up being exactly what we were looking for!

On that note, we would like to thank everyone who attended our 11th annual Tigris Holiday Bash and made the night a success. Your presence is the best gift you can give over the holidays and that is what our events staff who attended gave to US. So, we thought it was fitting when we saw the hashtag #givepresence painted on a wall immediately outside of the venue on our way out. There was simply no better way to describe our event and our experience. We can’t wait to work with our events staff on more high impact, brand building promotions in 2015! Thank you again and have a safe, happy holiday 🙂
