We don’t mean to brag – but here at Tigris, we know how to pull off a marvelous grand opening for your new business or new location! It takes a lot of planning and strategy, but we have more than a few grand openings under our belt. Retail Stores :: Retail stores are constantly expanding and opening up in new locations. Tigris was privileged to supply sales staff for the grand opening of Rogers’ corporate flagship store at Yonge & Dundas from May 14-18, 2008. The team included 4 sales staff per day plus event management who engaged the public, invited them to check out the new headquarters and enjoy some sweet treats. The team also pushed new activations with hundreds of consumers throughout the 4 day grand opening promotion. This was a fun, exciting event that got people excited about a familiar brand. The public were engaged by our friendly promotional staff and drawn in to learn more about the store as they walked by the busy area.

That was obviously quite a few years ago, but still a memorable one for the books. More recently provided promotional staffing for a grand opening in Vancouver. From Fri., Sept. 26th to Sun., Sept. 28th, our French Parisian themed brand ambassadors greeted guests and gave out free samples at the L’Occitane Grand Opening. When planning a grand opening, be prepared for the weather! There was a bit of rain that weekend, so our brand ambassadors had branded L’Occitane umbrellas to protect themselves and guests from the drizzle. An effective marketing strategy used for this grand opening was the use of free samples given out at the door by our events staff. They handed out over 3,000 samples to extremely happy customers! Free samples are a great promotional idea because they attract potential consumers (everyone loves free stuff!) and also inform previous consumers of new products and interest them in making a new purchase.

Bar/Restaurant: As mentioned before, Tigris has a few grand openings under our belt that include not only staffing, but also decor and entertainment solutions! Back in 2004, Tigris assisted Eden by the River open a lounge in the basement of their facility called “Apple Lounge”. For this specific grand opening, Tigris had our hands on everything! We created the cocktail/food menus, stocked the bar, hired a bar manager & cocktail staff, created custom designed invitations, and coordinated decor and entertainment for the event. The theme of the Apple Lounge was to “Tempt Your Senses” and revolving around that theme, Tigris executed a successful night for the mature, sophisticated crowd.

Last year, Tigris was contacted by Labatt to book to promotional models to host the grand opening of Shoeless Joe’s newest location in Burlington. The beautiful promotional models were scheduled from 6-9pm on Sat., Feb. 2 to greet patrons to the establishment, distribute prizes and play games onsite. Although the restaurant is fully stocked with hostesses, bartenders and waiters, the addition of promotional models generated more excitement for guests at the grand opening and got them to stay longer by interacting with the promotional staff.
