2017 was the year for social activism, especially when it came to women. As a business run by a female CEO – we felt that the #MeToo Movement was an extremely important cause to support especially in association with its impact on our industry and discovering new marketing solutions.
The #MeToo movement significantly gained attention after allegations of sexual assault and harassment by Harvey Weinstein, a well known Hollywood producer. #MeToo is the beginning of a larger conversation, giving people a voice to support survivors and end sexual violence, according to the movements website.
With this said, we are thrilled to announce that Tigris Events is the title sponsor of the upcoming event, “The Impact of the #MeToo Movement on Marketing” presented by AMA Toronto on Mar. 21, hosted at the Twitter office.
As this movement has gained ground, it has been fascinating to see how brands have responded to the conversation – or not. Our presenters and panelists will discuss and debate how local and global brands are reacting to this movement to strengthen their relationships with customers. This includes diving deep into marketing solutions and tactics.

Within this role, she will be liaising with the Board and the programming team (comprised of 12 event directors, managers and coordinators) to produce 9 events for the year. She will plan and develop marketing solutions and events for others in the industry.
“I’m thrilled to play an integral role in an association that has helped me so much. I was part of the Mentorship Exchange back in 2013/2014 for 9 months and still keep in touch with my mentor to this day. The AMA is an excellent association for independent marketers and these events are not only a great learning opportunity but also to see and be seen through networking with others in our industry.”
