Halloween marks the single night of the year, according to old Celtic beliefs, when spirits and the dead cross over onto the world of living. In reality, most of us just attend or hold Halloween parties while children roam the streets trick-or-treating. It’s mid-October and most, if not all Canadians are looking for the best costume for themselves and/or their kids. While this spooky festivity centers mainly around children, for a growing number, Halloween is also celebrated by corporations and organizations.
Once again, Tigris will be helping St. Josephs Health Centre get parents and their children in the Halloween spirit at the 2nd annual Toronto West Halloweenfest Parade & Party. Our event planning team will be onsite to assist with logistical execution – a hefty task considering we’re shutting down Bloor St. between Jane & Armadale for this year’s parade! With 1,000-1,200 expected attendees including parents, children, sponsors & entertainment, St. Joe’s will creating a day full of fun, games and activities -while raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the hospital foundation.
Halloween parties in Toronto won’t be able to compete with St. Joseph’s Hospital, at least those geared towards families! Sponsored by Scotia Bank, Pizza Pizza, City TV/OMNI and many others, the day will kick off with a 2km parade and 5km Fun Run. Guests will register from 10:30am-12pm when the open ceremonies begin. The fun run will start at 12:15pm and the parade will depart from Bloor & Armadale at 12:30pm sharp. After the parade is complete, most participants will then head over to Earth for an afternoon of games, music, food and drinks.
Last year’s event was attended by 500 guests and raised a whopping $260,000. This year, we are expecting more than double the participants – and hopefully a residual increase in fundraising dollars. Do your part to help the community, while giving their family an experience they’ll never forget. For more on registration, click here.
