Tigris was excited to partner up with brand new agency, Midfield Interactive, to deliver a campaign to connect Mapleview Shopping Centre with their local shopaholics. This collaboration demonstrates why experiential marketing can help grow a relationship between a brand and target market through personal engagement. What better way for Mapleview Shopping Centre to do so than hitting the hills at Glen Eden?
Perfectly nestled on the beautiful Niagara Escarpment, Glen Eden, also known as Kelso Conservation Area in Milton buzzes with activity all year round, especially this past Family Day weekend. At the base of Sunset Hill, a slope running on the mount, Tigris staffed the “Mapleview Style Patrol” team of four to encourage skiers to check out the ‘M Snow Lounge’, a spa tent full of relaxing amenities. What an amazing way for skiers to unwind – compliments of Mapleview.
Inside the lounge, skiers and snowboarders were invited to enjoy a free massage, play board games and take advantage of the s’mores & apple cider station, chocolates from Purdy’s and skincare products from Keihl’s all the while lounging in front of the indoor fire pit. Outside, the Tigris team offered guests a chance to win a $100 Mapleview Shopping Centre gift card by participating in an interactive social media photo campaign. For a chance to win, contestants had to write down their style and favourite store on the back of a mock snowboard and have their picture taken.
The contest streamed live from the Mapleview Shopping Centre Facebook page featuring the ‘M Snow Lounge’ and guests within the tent who kept the conversation going even after the weekend was over.
“Join our Style Patrol in the ‘M’ Snow Lounge” slope side by Sunset Hill lodge @Glen_Eden. Snow Bunnies will have the chance to be pampered by @Kiehl’s Canada, get a sweet treat from @PurdysChocolate, enjoy a relaxing massage and grab a game & play brought to you by @Hasbrogamenight. Plus, there are chances to Win Mapleview gift cards!” was one of the posts you could view and still can at the ‘Mapleview Shopping Centre’ Facebook Page.
And so, if you’re still wondering – why experiential marketing? It works because it encourages brands to think outside of the box while motivating two way interaction with consumers. There is simply no better way to connect when compared to traditional techniques. Aside from social media, another reason why experiential marketing works is the long term residual impact on your brand that is elevated and advertised through word of mouth. Wouldn’t you love to have a loyal customer for life? If this is (and should be) your end goal, you’ll never wonder “why experiential marketing?” ever again.
