The holiday season is an extremely busy one for the Tigris head office, as well as our staff. That’s why this year we decided to host our annual Holiday Bash a bit earlier this year – November 26th. We invited over 400 of our local brand ambassadors who reside in the GTA, as well as those located just outside in Newmarket, Barrie, Waterloo, London and Guelph. Our 12th annual holiday bash gave the head office employees the opportunity to celebrate with our staff, who are on the front lines of our events. We work as a team and wanted to celebrate as a team!
This year we selected a unique venue to host the party. When brainstorming venues, we knew we wanted the event to include some sort of activity. We thought of pool tables, karaoke, mechanical bulls and darts, but in the end we selected SPiN, located on King West in Toronto. The main source of entertainment at this unique venue is ping pong! We rented 2 tables for our guests to test their skills from 7pm to 10pm. Bright orange ping pong balls were flying everywhere. Throughout the night we had to dodge a few slap shots but it was very much party of the fun!
We knew this sport would work up an appetite for our staff, so we provided tons of late night snacks including vegetarian spring rolls, shrimp dumplings, bacon lollipops, mini grilled cheese’s and many more delectable snacks. Our staff were also provided with drink tickets to quench their thirst. Once the ping pong games were finished, we drew prizes for a raffle. The prizes included gift cards for The Keg, LCBO and Tim Hortons. Tons of staff left the event with prizes and all left with a full tummy and warm heart, having spent the evening with great team members.
Since the Tigris head office is located in Ajax, we are unable to throw a holiday bash for all of our staff across the nation. Instead, we award one brand ambassador from each major market a special prize to congratulate them on their outstanding efforts throughout the year. Let’s take a look at our 2015 Winners!
Nicole Wong from Vancouver only joined Team Tigris a few months ago but we would like to thank her for her efforts on the Florastor promotion. Nicole was consistently 15 minutes early for her shifts, always in uniform, and had exceptional product knowledge. After every promotion we ask our staff to complete a feedback form so we can receive their perspective on the success and difficulties encountered onsite during a program. Nicole’s feedback forms were so detailed, we felt as if we were onsite with her! With this valuable feedback we were able to give an accurate report to our clients and troubleshoot along the way.
Throughout this year Bailey Mullen from Calgary has been consistently working events with our client Canada Beef. Here at Tigris, we require all of our staff to personally call us if they are unable to make their shift at an event if it is less than 48hrs before the program. This summer, Bailey was scheduled to work an event with Canada Beef. She called the head office to explain that she had burnt herself at her day job but was still going to go in for her shift, but asked if we could get her shift for the next night covered. When Bailey arrived onsite willing to work, her hand was so badly burnt that the client decided to send her home, even though Bailey was ready and willing to work through her minor injury. We appreciate her hard work and willingness to commit to her shift even though she was injured. It’s all about communication!
Brandi LaPerle has been an extremely valuable asset to Tigris this year. She has offered to work last minute for several events, and has worked on programs with 6 different Tigris clients throughout the year. Brandi has exceptional communication skills and has acted as the Team Lead on many programs. She is quick on her feet and able to relay key messaging to consumers with confidence. Brandi recently hosted group interviews for Tigris in Edmonton and has been promoted to a management role in Edmonton.
Karin Noels joined the team in November to assist with a promotion with Post Media in Regina. Since then she has worked on various other promotions, including one for Orange Board Media in association with Extreme Pita. Karin went above and beyond with her efforts representing Orange Board Media by working independently at several locations, distributing coupons and driving traffic back to the Extreme Pita store. She took on a Team Lead role at the event even though it was only her second event with Tigris. She took initiative and led the team in the right direction. She is a strong team player and her skills have not gone unnoticed!
The brand ambassadors and promotional models on the Tigris roster all lead very busy lives –some are students, work multiple jobs, and support families. This year, alongside his other priorities Cedric participated in 17 Tigris events, which included samplings, walking billboard promotions, and overnight promotions. He always makes himself readily available and offers any extra help he can provide. Not to mention, the other brand ambassadors absolutely love working with him!
Claire is fluently bilingual and extremely experienced. Whether she is promoting a pet food or an athletic event, Claire knows the key messaging inside-out. She is extremely reliable, takes excellent photos at events and always arrives early for her shifts. We love how happy and professional she looks at each and every event.
Here at Tigris, we rely on our amazing events staff to bring our brands to life. Jeric not only performs onsite, but his communication with the head office is flawless. He immediately responds to any text, call or e-mail from our team and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He is extremely accommodating and has proven himself several times when covering shifts for other staff that were unable to work their shifts.
Tigris was contacted by a new client requesting 15 staff in St. John’s, Newfoundland to assist with a special athletic promotion in the community. We have an extremely small team in St. John’s so Tigris quickly recruited a team of energetic, athletic staff. This was Nathan’s first event with Tigris and he was appointed as a Team Lead due to his outstanding phone interview. Although this was Nathan’s first event with Tigris, he was quick to communicate when one staff member fell ill and was able to replace her by locating back-ups. He took get direction and his team members applauded his ability to take charge.
Overall, 2015 has been an outstanding year full of growth for Tigris, and it isn’t over yet! We’d like to thank all our staff who came out to the holiday bash, those mentioned on our Top 8 list and every other brand ambassador on the team for their continuous efforts, making Tigris an outstanding agency.
