No matter what type of national promo tour is taking place, one thing never changes; the immense amount of event rentals that goes into it. Many factors need to be taken into consideration to guarantee a successful outcome. But aside from simply being successful, most national tours look to incorporate different elements or an entirely new concept to stand out from the rest.
As Canada’s leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing materials and suspended acoustical ceilings, CGC Inc. came to Tigris, looking to do just that. CGC operates 2 mines (a quarry in Little Narrows and underground in Hagersville), five plants and several distribution and customer service centres across the country. They benefits from global affiliations and state‐of‐the‐art research and development facilities through its parent company USG Corporation, the leading drywall manufacturer in North America and a world leader in suspended acoustical ceilings. USG has manufacturing, sales and distribution facilities in several international markets, and its products are sold throughout the world.
With their continued success, CGC wanted to differentiate themselves in the marketplace by doing something innovative and even play a little “dirty” (pun intended) — which ultimately led to the CGC “Mud Tour 2014”. Of course, promoting their line of diverse, sustainable building materials and products will be crucial, but CGC is looking to build more than new developments ranging from residential communities to corporate buildings — but rather, strengthening relationships with valued customers working at the actual job sites. And so, starting yesterday on May 5 and running through to Sept. 1, CGC will be touring Central, Eastern and Western Canada with dedicated events staff from Tigris.
This national promo tour has been a long time coming and with over 3 months of strategic planning, it’s finally here!
From sourcing and branding 3 GMC Sierra’s to event staffing and hotel accommodations, Tigris has been working hard to ensure a smooth execution for our client and the 3 events staff who will be traveling alongside CGC’s local sales reps. In addition to routinely setting up at the construction sites, our events staff will also be responsible for re-loading and distributing supplies including branded swag and collateral to further enhance the CGC experience and Q&A’s that will be fielded with workers onsite.
To formally kick off the promo tour, our staff executed internal launch parties at sales offices in Montreal QC, Port Kells BC & Mississauga ON to celebrate the launch and garner support from a few of CGC’s internal office teams. CGC employees had the chance to sit back, mingle, enjoy some food and drinks and of course, get comfortable with the program. This promo tour is the beginning to an exciting new partnership, so stay tuned as the program unfolds for the next four months!
