Basketball Canada, in association with Michael Hill, Tangerine and Ciroc, hosted a special event to celebrate 125 years of Basketball Canada at Spice Route in Toronto Feb. 11th. There was a unique social media activation at the event supplied by EventPeeks, to broadcast live social media. Tigris supplied two experienced Toronto promotional models to moderate the live Twitter feed, and encourage guests to participate.
Guests were encouraged to pose in front of a large Twitter branded backdrop. The tweet was already programmed to say “Celebrating #WeAreTeamCanada thanks to @TangerineBank & @TwitterCanada!”. Guests were able to tag themselves in the tweet, so it appeared on their own Twitter feed, as well as @Canbball_party, the event’s account. The Twitter TV was consistently busy throughout the whole night, and many guests came back to take more photos with their friends! Our promotional models had a blast assisting guests and joining in on the fun.
This social media activation with Tigris promotional models was extremely successful. It increased audience participation, expanded the audience demographic and provided the sponsors with enhanced exposure.
