At your Service! Tips to Secure Superior Staff for your Next Event

How to Source Superior Staff who will Connect with Consumers while Complimenting your Event

Are you in need of management support or superior staff to host an event this summer?

The weather is warming up and so is event season! There is no more perfect time than now to start thinking about planning an event. Whether you work for a company, planning an event marketing campaign or hosting a private party of your own, there are a few things you need to think about – from venue to food to a team of superior staff to take away any stress the day or night of!

Event planning aside, how do you know what to look for when selecting staff for your event or program? Here are a few tips to help guide you through the decision making process.

1) Presentation :: image isn’t everything, but it is VERY important especially when one of the objectives of your event is to leave a positive and memorable brand impression. You want to make sure that the staff onsite are polished and pulled together. Hair should be clean and styled nicely, makeup should be fresh and professional and apparel should be appropriately planned for the event. If you have an outdoor sporting event, a branded shirt and shorts with running shoes may be appropriate. If it’s a nighttime patio sampling, perhaps a tank top, skirt and heels would be best. If you’re working with an agency, take them up on their recommendations. They know their people; you don’t – and a photo can only reflect so much about someone.

2) Personality :: it doesn’t matter how good someone looks if they can’t carry on a conversation. If they don’t have the ability to articulate intelligently, use humour when it’s appropriate and have a friendly/ approachable demeanour, they may not be someone you’d want to have hosting your event. The difficulty of course lays within the fact that you won’t usually get to meet the staff before they arrive at your event. As a result, we recommend building a relationship with a staffing agency that is dependable and can provide you with quality staff consistently. It may take a couple of attempts to find the right one, but once you’ve found them, you can maintain a long and mutually beneficial working relationship.

3) Preparation :: make sure the staff booked for your event are adequately prepared. You need to give your contacts accurate information along with enough of it so your team can do the best job possible. Try to keep changes to a minimum to avoid any confusion. There is nothing worse than the “I Don’t Know” syndrome and this can easily be prevented with the right amount of program preparation. The most superior staff and those that shine at events are the one’s who have been prepared properly and can be confident about completing their required tasks onsite.

Keep these important elements in mind the next time you need to book a team of temporary staff.

Summer is the Season to Leverage Superior Staffing

The official first day of summer is still a couple weeks away but Tigris is already is moving full steam ahead in planning mode! Our superior staff will be hosting a number of events, locally and nationally – and we couldn’t be more excited! To name a few…

We have been planning a series of events for Labatt this month including 5 Corona patio parties at Ivy Bar in Burlington every Friday from May 30-Jun. 27, another at Fynn’s of Temple Bar, hosting the Yelp Party at Woodbine Race Track Jun. 4 AND a Bud Crown tasting at Mohawk Race Track in Campbellville Jun. 14. Our promotional models will be sampling Labatt products and engaging guests to make sure they are having a blast.

Just yesterday we kicked off a 2 month national program for Yellow Pages in association with Zoom Media. Our brand ambassadors will be dominating patios at 43 locations spanning 4 cities Thursdays and Friday’s from Jun. 5 until Jul. 25 to offer bar patrons a free appetizer in exchange for downloading the Yellow Pages app to their smart phone. We’re happy to help this notable brand build awareness – one “app at a time”.

Coming up this weekend, Tigris’ events staff will be promoting Revlon’s d:fi hair brand at a series of concerts. How fun is that? You will find our superior staff in action at Republik Nightclub in Calgary Jun. 7, Venue Nightclub in Vancouver Jun. 13, The Hoxton in Toronto Jun. 14 and Beach Club in Montreal Jun. 15. Each event will feature 3-5 of our promotional models handing out samples, dancing and communicating key messaging about the hip new brand.

Later this month, our events staff will be participating in the Toronto Pride Parade for the 3rd year in a row. We will have a team of mature events staff representing Pfizer, riding on a float, walking in the parade, handing out samples AND guiding a larger than life sized balloon along the parade route. You can’t miss them, that’s for sure!

Event marketing is all about the experience you can offer your guests or consumers. Friendly and engaging staff could very well be the difference between a memorable event and well, one that … is not.
